The Baltimore Arts Realty Corporation (BARCO) is a nonprofit real estate development corporation with a mission to provide affordable, safe and sustainable facilities for contemporary artists, designers, curators, performers and creative ventures and nonprofit arts organizations. BARCO’s focus is the acquisition and development of properties that fulfill this mission in Baltimore’s three arts and entertainment districts. This grant provided $50,000 in core operating support, plus an additional $35,000 to help launch a new Arts Navigator Technical Assistance program to provide advice and assistance to artists and arts space owners and operators with the development of safe and code compliant spaces.
