In recent years, the PTO at Garrett Heights Elementary Middle School has grown from 20 to 47 members who have worked actively with the principal to develop a vision for how the school could improve both its student achievement and its reputation in the community. The school leadership and community rallied around a shared vision to transform Garrett Heights into a public Montessori school. This grant provided funds for program design and training in Montessori for public sector schools.
