Baltimore Civic Fund: Baltimore Health Corps Initiative

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Baltimore launched the Baltimore Health Corps, an innovative pilot program aimed at equitably addressing the city’s public health and employment challenges. The Baltimore Health Corps will recruit, train, and employ more than 300 residents who are currently jobless due to the pandemic. Health Corps staff will be deployed to address critical COVID-19 needs in Baltimore’s most vulnerable communities, performing three key functions: public health education outreach, contact tracing, and care coordination and social support. This grant provided support for the start-up and ongoing operation of the Baltimore Health Corps.
