Baltimore Montessori Public Charter School enrolls 450 students from 26 Baltimore City zip codes through a city-wide lottery. It is one of the most diverse public schools in the city. Inspired by mounting evidence of the value of diverse and integrated schools for all students, the school leadership wishes to take a deeper dive into its data and systems to identify any gaps related to equity in the school’s educational opportunities, outcomes, and disciplinary practices. This analysis is expected to lead to the development of an implementation plan with applicable strategies to ensure the school environment is culturally inclusive and equitable for all staff, students, and families. This Management Assistance Grant provided funds for a consultant to assist with an equity audit of the school.
