Child First Authority launched in 1996 in response to a city-wide call by Baltimoreans United in Leadership Development (BUILD) for safe, productive learning environments for children in the out-of-school time hours. Child First Authority is currently the community school nonprofit partner and out-of-school time provider at eight schools, and provides out-of-school time activities only at three additional schools. Its founding director retired in 2016 and it underwent its first executive transition. This Management Assistance Grant provided funds for strategic planning.
