In its first decade of existence, DBFA has grown from a few dozen committed families to an alliance with over 4,000 families connected, at a minimum by subscribing to its communications. In addition to its established programming, such as the New Babies on the Block social events and the School & Children’s Programming Fair, DBFA has launched new programming, such as a PTO leaders network and a Tough Talk Parent Seminar series. Giving parents the infrastructure to support one another and work together to improve city services important to raising families, such as schools, parks, and public safety, DBFA plays a valuable role in helping to stabilize Baltimore City’s population. This grant provided $15,000 for programming costs.
