Govans Elementary School

Govans Elementary School is a neighborhood-zoned public school in North Central Baltimore, just east of York Road and near Loyola University. Govans converted to charter status in 2016, with Baltimore Curriculum Project (BCP) as the new school operator. BCP has successfully operated conversion charter schools in Baltimore City since 2005. Govans Elementary School’s zone encompasses a racially and socio-economically diverse population, and the school is in the planning stages to build a brand new 21st Century learning facility opening for the 2020-2021 school year. This $30,000 grant provided funds for a community school coordinator to help meet the needs of current students and families, as well as market Govans to prospective families to increase enrollment.
