Holistic Life Foundation is a Baltimore-based nonprofit with a mission of nurturing the wellness of children and adults in underserved communities, through programs that emphasize violence reduction, peaceful conflict resolution, youth engagement, high school completion, and employment opportunities. Core programs include yoga and mindfulness classes at eleven Baltimore City Public Schools serving 3,000 students every week, as well as classes at senior centers, drug treatment centers, and mental health crisis facilities. A workforce development program provides job readiness skills, individual on-the-job training, and job and career opportunities for underserved populations, which prepare future generations of HLF instructors and trainers. HLF is growing its capacity to serve Baltimore by recruiting, hiring, and training from the communities it seeks to serve. This management assistance grant provided funds for strategic planning, including communications and branding.
