Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, a 504 bed acute-care community teaching hospital, has been integrally involved in creating and growing initiatives that benefit neighboring communities in Northwest Baltimore. These include an aging in place program, Housing Upgrades to Benefit Seniors (HUBS); an expanded Live Near Your Work program; infrastructure improvements; home improvement projects in partnership with Healthy Neighborhoods; transit improvements; and partnering with local schools for mentoring opportunities. This grant provided funds to initiate a convening and planning process to forge a Northwest Baltimore Partnership (NBP). The NBP will engage neighborhood organizations, nonprofit agencies, community development corporations, major property owners, educational institutions, foundations, and businesses.
