SHARE Baltimore

In November 2016, Baltimore voters approved the creation of a trust fund to develop and maintain housing that extremely low-income residents can afford. The community advocates who worked to ensure the passage and funding of the Affordable Housing Trust Fund are now developing the infrastructure to ensure their communities can benefit from new affordable housing. Working under the umbrella of a new organization called SHARE Baltimore, six communities (Curtis Bay, Westport, Cherry Hill, McElderry Park, Remington, and Four-by-Four) have come together to create a pilot initiative focused on developing community land trusts in Baltimore. This grant provided funding for resident organizer stipends, and fiscal management of the project by the Northeast Housing Initiative.
