Diapers and baby gear are not allocated through federal or state assistance programs. The only monies that can be used are Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) which must also be used to cover rent, utilities, transportation and many other essential family costs. ShareBaby was founded in 2014 by three local moms who wanted to help other mothers share their new or gently used baby items with families that need them the most. ShareBaby has plans to significantly expand operations in Baltimore in the coming year. This grant provided a two-year commitment of $50,000 per year for core operating support.
