The Southwest Partnership is a collaborative effort of seven neighborhoods: Barre Circle, Pigtown, Mount Clare, Hollins Roundhouse, Union Sqaure, Franklin Square and Poppletown. Leaders from these seven neighborhoods representing more than 20,000 people worked closely with the University of Maryland, the University of Maryland Medical Center, Bon Secours, and other institutions and businesses to develop and implement a strategic plan for community improvements designed to position their neighborhoods as a vibrant part of Baltimore’s future. This grant provided $115,000 for core operating support and another $20,000 dedicated to planning work for new partnership efforts for schools within the target area.
