The Baltimore Arts Realty Corporation (BARCO) is a nonprofit real estate development corporation with a mission to provide affordable, safe and sustainable facilities for contemporary artists, designers, curators, performers and creative ventures and nonprofit arts organizations. BARCO’s focus is the acquisition and development of properties that fulfill this mission in Baltimore’s three arts and entertainment districts. As of summer 2016, BARCO had invested over $1.9 million in two projects in the Station North area: the Motor House on North Avenue between Howard Street and Maryland Avenue, and Open Works at 1400 Greenmount Avenue. This grant provided core operating support.
