The vision of the Central Maryland Transportation Alliance is a thriving metropolitan area which boasts an array of convenient transportation options, including a coordinated system of highways and interconnected mass transit options providing access and opportunity for employment, housing, education, services and entertainment. Many initiatives supported by CMTA have enjoyed strong success including the expansion of MARC service, the development and implementation of the Bus Network Improvement Plan, creating of the Rate My Ride transit user application, and promotion of Transit-Oriented Development projects. CMTA was also a leading advocate for the Red Line project, the proposed East-West light rail line. CMTA is now spearheading public advocacy efforts around the MTA’s BaltimoreLInk initiative. The $45,000 grant provided core operating support.
