PIVOT (Post Incarceration Vision of Transformation) connects women impacted by the criminal justice system with the comprehensive resources and support to regain their lives, rejoin their families and reinvigorate their communities. PIVOT launched out of the Johns Hopkins Social Innovation Lab in 2018. Since then, PIVOT has moved from an all-volunteer team to a staff of six, having raised almost $700,000 since inception. In 2021, PIVOT hired an experienced Executive Director to steward the organization’s rapid growth, and transitioned from its founding “friends and family” board of directors to an intentionally hand-picked board with very specific skill sets and networks to help the organization reach the next level. This grant provided funds for a strategic planning process.
