In response to the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge on March 26, 2024, an emergency fund entitled the “Maryland Tough Baltimore Strong Key Bridge Fund” was established at the Baltimore Community Foundation. The purpose of this fund is to provide ongoing support to the recovery and resilience efforts for families, port workers, first responders, small businesses and communities affected by the tragedy. With over $15M in commitments, the fund is supporting regional efforts to heal, respond, and memorialize in coordination with adjacent public relief efforts. This grant provided funds towards these efforts.
