The mission of We Will All Rise (All Rise) is to create targeted initiatives that invest in the socio-emotional, educational, and economic needs of young men of color. Through its BELIEF (Black and Brown Educators Lifting and Inspiring Education’s Future) Fellowship, a strategy emphasizing a pathway to economic stability through careers in education, All Rise is partnering with Towson and Morgan State to support cohorts of men of color majoring in education to get them through their journey and into careers in the classroom. They do this by offering direct cash assistance to participants during their higher education journey and connecting young men to caring and experienced education mentors. Additionally, All Rise staff and BELIEF Fellows engage in mentorship roles with middle and high school students to encourage them to start considering education as a career path, and All Rise operates a reading campaign with four local elementary schools through which male college students of color read to students during summer school. This grant provided core operating support.
