Formed ten years ago, Betamore was one of the first startup business incubators in Baltimore City. Over the last decade, Betamore has enabled 175+ Baltimore-based startups to successfully build and scale their businesses in Baltimore. While initially a for-profit entity, Betamore transformed to a nonprofit organization in 2015, enabling deeper, more meaningful engagement with the community.
Betamore has decided to re-position its work, location, and revenue model, moving away from hosting co-working start-up space and expanding its “Betamore Academy,” a series of programmatic offerings aimed at intensive software engineering training (SET), accelerated training boot camps for early-stage founders, and more general workshops, classes, and sector convenings. This Management Assistance Grant will help fund the costs of external consultants who will help design and expand Betamore Academy’s course offerings and launch the first new cohort.
