Careers Through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP)

C-CAP (Careers through Culinary Arts Program) holds a 33-year track record of creating pathways to the
culinary profession for high school students. Originating in New York City, C-CAP works with students in
New York, Newark, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Chicago, Houston, and D.C. To date, the program has
awarded over $68 million in college scholarships and served 370,000 students.
This fall, C-CAP will launch in four high schools in Baltimore that have CTE programs. The first year will
serve 443 students in Culinary, 70 in Baking and 80 in Hospitality. After the pilot year, the program will
expand to include the full model (training, one-on-one mentorship, life skills training, higher education
scholarships, career-accelerating apprenticeships and jobs and college and career advising). This grant provided start-up funds for program expansion to Baltimore.
