The University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) is a dynamic, public research university integrating teaching, research, and service to benefit the citizens of Maryland. Since 2014, UMBC has been engaged with a number of Baltimore City public schools in an effort to support enhanced math learning. Across the participating schools, achievement has increased steadily each year. The UMBC Reach Together Summer Math Project focuses on summer learning as an opportunity to increase math achievement. This grant provided funds to support UMBC’s Summer Math Program at Lakeland Elementary/Middle School and Cherry Hill Elementary/Middle School, both in Baltimore City.
