Our Grantees

The Goldseker Foundation makes grants primarily in the areas of community development, education, and strengthening the nonprofit sector. We seek opportunities to invest in the people, ideas, and institutions that promote the long-term economic and social progress of our city.

The foundation remains a directly engaged and active partner with our grantees in their efforts to revive and sustain vibrant neighborhoods, strengthen and market great schools, and expand and improve the effectiveness of their programs.

  • PEACE Team

    The PEACE Team is a community peacekeeping and conflict de-escalation organization serving the Woodbourne-McCabe, Pen Lucy, and Alameda communities. They employ credible messengers to patrol communities and maintain relationship-based safety initiatives. Since the start of their community safety program in 2021, they have seen dramatic and consistent drops in homicides in their footprint and their services have recently been contracted by economic development projects at Edmondson Village Shopping Center and Lexington Market. This grant provided capacity building support.

  • Next One Up

    Founded in 2009, Next One Up (NOU) offers early and consistent counseling for students as they progress from middle school to high school and then set out on their post-secondary path. NOU create an environment that promotes early exposure to new opportunities and growth through individualized counseling, athletics, experiential learning, career services, and alumni support. Currently serving 155 program participants, NOU boasts impressive outcome data: 90% program retention rate and grade level progress rate, 100% on-time high school graduation rate, 95% college matriculation rate, and 100% employment rate six months after graduation. This grant was the third in a three-year commitment and provided funds for sustained program expansion.

  • Maryland Tough Baltimore Strong Key Bridge Fund

    In response to the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge on March 26, 2024, an emergency fund entitled the “Maryland Tough Baltimore Strong Key Bridge Fund” was established at the Baltimore Community Foundation. The purpose of this fund is to provide ongoing support to the recovery and resilience efforts for families, port workers, first responders, small businesses and communities affected by the tragedy. With over $15M in commitments, the fund is supporting regional efforts to heal, respond, and memorialize in coordination with adjacent public relief efforts. This grant provided funds towards these efforts.
