Black Arts District
The Black Arts District (BAD), founded in 2020 along Pennsylvania Avenue in Upton, uses an anti-displacement framework to empower Black creatives and drive community revitalization through arts and culture.
Its work spans four focus areas: Events, Training, Advocacy, and Creative Placemaking. Signature programs include the Historical Photography Project and Project RestART, which supports Black artists through hiring, training, and sponsorship.
