Farm Alliance of Baltimore

The Farm Alliance of Baltimore (FAB) is a membership organization of urban farms, neighborhood growers, and community allies dedicated to fostering connections, sharing resources, and advocating for food, land, and water issues to strengthen community self-determination and empowerment in Baltimore City.

FAB works with its members to build a healthy and equitable food system through sustainable agriculture, community engagement, and education. FAB’s Black Butterfly Teaching Farm serves as an international model for urban farming thanks to its unique long-term lease with the City of Baltimore. The farm allows FAB to lead by example, demonstrating practices such as reduced tillage farming, composting, cover cropping, season extension, and solarization that promote sustainable and regenerative agriculture.
